SB132: Move On When Ready

The New Move On When Ready Program (SB132)

High school students may enroll in an eligible participating postsecondary institution during 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and earn dual-credits (high school and college).  MOWR provides students the opportunity to complete an Associate Degree, Technical Diploma, or two Technical Certificate Programs while in high school.  Students can enroll in fall, spring, and summer sessions at most post-secondary institutions. 

Eligible High School Students Eligible students include:

  • All students attending public or private high schools in Georgia or a home study program operated in accordance with O.C.G.A. 20-2- 690(c)
  • Must be approved and classified as eligible by the high school attending
    9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades 
  • No residency or citizenship requirement 
  • Meet admissions requirements at postsecondary institution
  • Must not have already received a high school diploma
  • Be enrolled in courses listed in the approved MOWR Course Directory
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the postsecondary institution

Required High School Courses and State Required Tests (GMAS)

High school students participating in Move on When Ready are required to take all appropriate GMAS Test. GMAS courses include:

  • Ninth Grade Literature/Composition and American Literature/Composition
  • Algebra and Geometry
  • Physical Science and Biology
  • United States History and Economics
