Announcements: Woodville Tompkins Students & Teacher Recognized for Holocaust Learning

Title

Woodville Tompkins Students & Teacher Recognized for Holocaust Learning

Body

Two Woodville Tompkins Technical and Career High School students have been honored by Chapman University for participating in the school’s 18th Annual Holocaust Art and Writing contest.  Chapman University holds the annual contest for middle and high school students in partnership with The 1939 Society, one of the largest and most active Holocaust survivor organizations in the United States

Fauztin Desmonda and Fayauna Lipsey received recognition along with their teacher Amy Rotker.  Woodville Tompkins is one of just three Georgia schools to be recognized for outstanding commitment to student learning about the Holocaust.

Focusing on themes central both to the Holocaust and to ethical decision making in our world today, the contest gives students the opportunity to share their creative  works in response to survivors’ oral testimonies.
