On Friday, June 8th at 10:00A.M., Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts along with students of SCAD’s department of Sculptures will hang mobiles in the lobby that they have designed. The collaboration between SCAD’s department of Sculpture and 5th grade students at Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts produced mobiles designed from recycled and reclaimed materials. The overall project was based on in-class reading and research of famous sculptors.
Professor Matt Toole of SCAD and his students teamed up with Garrison’s students under the supervision of Ms. Nikki Gibeault, Garrison’s Teacher of the Year.
The students designed 5 mobiles, one representing each art area studied in school. Many local officials and Garrison’s parents and friends will be on hand as the students hang their designs.
