Several teams from the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System participated in the state Odyssey of the Mind Tournament in Columbus, Georgia, and advanced to World Finals in Ames, Iowa, on May 23-26. Odyssey of the Mind is an international, creative competition in which teams solve a long term problem with very specific guidelines.

Students compete against other teams in their division and use a range of creative content to problem solve and present their solutions to an audience and a group of judges. Students competed with more than 800 teams from around the world.

Ø  Esther F. Garrison School of Visual and Performing Arts – 22nd

Ø  May Howard – 24th

Ø  Islands High School – 31st

Ø  Johnson High School -22nd, and

Ø  Savannah Arts Academy – 7th
