Pursuant to Georgia law (O.C.G.A. § 20-2-690), and effective July 1, 2012, parents/guardians who wish to educate their children in a home study program must annually submit a Declaration of Intent to Utilize a Home Study Program and monthly attendance reports to the Georgia Department of Education. The responsibility of home study reporting has shifted from local school systems to the Georgia Department of Education; therefore, these documents can no longer be accepted at Savannah-Chatham County Public School Board of Education. Information about homeschooling and how to submit home school documentation is available on the Georgia Department of Education’s (GaDOE) home school webpage located at http://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Pages/Home-Schools.aspx.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to submit their home school Declaration of Intent and attendance reports online using the Georgia Department of Education’s online web application. Parents/guardians who do not have access to a computer may submit hardcopies of their home school documentation via mail or fax to the GaDOE at the contact information below:

Parents/guardians may request a Certificate of Attendance electronically using the web-based system or by contacting a GaDOE home school staff member.
