Kerrington Gilliard Named Superintendent’s Student of the Month
The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System recognized Kerrington Gilliard at this month’s board meeting as the Superintendent’s Student of the month of March. Our featured student is a senior at Savannah Early College High School.
Kerrington participates in a number of extra-curricular activities throughout the school and community and is described as a student who demonstrates exemplary work and study habits. She is currently a full-time dual-enrolled student at Savannah State University. With a 94 GPA, she is on-track to earn 40 college credit hours prior to her high school graduation. Our student is the president of the Early College High School Chapter of the National Honor Society and a member of her school’s Beta Club. She is also active in her community by volunteering with America’s Second Harvest and being a part of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s “Delta Gems”.
After graduation, she plans to attend Kennesaw State University and major in Engineering Technology Education. She says, “I am motivated by my father who pushes me to strive for academic excellence because he was not afforded the opportunity to attend college.”
