Summer Reading Program

Students of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPSS) will begin their summer break on Friday, May 23, 2014 and will return to class for the beginning of the 2014-2015 school year on Thursday, August 7, 2014.

Summer reading is a key component to the continued academic success for all students.  Reading supports vocabulary growth, comprehension and problem solving, and the development of effective communication skills.  For more information on the "Summer Slide," click on the following link.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahhj3wxxkdM

Be sure to register for the Live Oak Public Libraries Summer Reading Program! Your required school reading will also earn you great coupons and the chance to win prizes and gift cards!!  (www.liveoakpl.org/)

Good reading habits will prevent reading loss and help to ensure that your child is fully prepared for the start of the new school year.  Please click on the appropriate link below for information regarding the SCCPSS Summer Reading Program.
