Principal Induction Program

Peter Ulrich demonstrates administrative uses of the IPad.

    Principal Induction Program (PIP)

It is the job of the Principal to create high expectations for all learners in their building, both students and adults. Because Principal leadership is a strong factor in successful student achievement, the Principal Induction Program is designed to build new principal capacity with three big goals in mind:

    • To acclimate new administrators to their roles as building leaders.
    • To provide effective feedback
    • To create thriving school cultures that positively impact teacher effectiveness and student learning.

Cohorts are established based on the number of years of experience for principals with 0 – 3 or more years of experience.  The Principal’s Induction Program (PIP) will have three cohorts for principals .The PIP leadership program is a tiered professional learning experience program that will address Leadership Standards identified in the Leader Keys Effectiveness System LKES). The first year participants will attend 3 -6 sessions of ongoing professional development training.  Second year participants will be required to attend 50% of the trainings.  Third year participants will be able to attend any training they are interested in as a part of their ongoing professional growth and development.

Principal mentors are provided for first year PIP principals.  Mentorship is optional for second and third year PIP principals.
