What is Alternative Route Certification?
Alternative route certifications (ARC) allow people such as career changers and those who have been out of the job market and who hold a minimum of a college degree to transition into teaching without the hardship of leaving the paid workforce or the expense and possible redundancy of traditional teaching programs.
The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System offers ARC through the GaTAPP program. GaTAPP is offered by three program providers in collaboration with our school system. These providers are First Distict RESA (FDRESA), Georgia Teachers Fellows (GTF), and Oconee RESA. Their services are available only to teachers who are currently employed by SCCPSS.
