  How Does the Gifted Education Program Communicate with Family and Community?

The gifted education department at the school and district level communicates with families and the community in the following ways:

 

Written Communications

Permission to Evaluate Letter prior to testing – when appropriate

Eligibility/ Placement Letter prior to gifted services beginning – following testing

Parent Handbook – initial eligibility

Gifted Newsletter – each marking  period ( ES/ K-8)

Differentiation Contracts – yearly for service in cluster or collaborative delivery models where applicable

Probation Notification – when appropriate

Elementary Gifted Progress Reports – each marking period

Permission to Evaluate Letter prior to testing – when appropriate

Information Sessions

PTA presentation on gifted services - yearly

Gifted parent meeting – yearly
