This information is intended to provide general guidance and information to families.

Pre-K Lottery Application

Will the applications for Pre-K be available on paper?
Applications will be available online at
How many sites can I apply to for my child? Only one (1) application per child may be submitted containing up to three priority choice selections. If the family wants to attend a specific school that is not in their school attendance zone, they can select any school. However, priority within a choice selection is provided to families whose choice is the Pre K program within their attendance zone school.

What if I live in a zone where the school does not have a Pre-K Program?
If your attendance zone school does not have a Pre-K program, select n/a for school zone and choose any three schools with a Pre-K program. Only select Pre-K schools you are interested in having your child attend.

What schools have Pre-K?
Click here for a list of schools.
What happens when my child is selected at one of the choice schools?
Once a seat is provided, the child is removed from other wait lists.

What documents do I need to complete the Pre-K lottery application?
Certified birth certificate and proof of residence are required to be verified for eligibility into the lottery process.

How old does my child have to be to attend Georgia Pre-K?

Can an application be disqualified from the process?
Yes. Submission of more than one application on the same child may result in disqualification. If you would like to confirm that your application has been processed, you can check with your choice schools.

What do I do if I have twins, triplets?
Parents should include all names online and on the same application. In the case of fewer seats being available than needed to place each child, the family may opt to accept the available seat(s) with the additional multiple(s) being placed first on the waiting list or decline the available seats.

Pre-K Registration

How do I register for Pre-K once my child has been offered a seat?
Upon clicking the Pre-K registration button at under the Registration Tab, you will be prompted to enter in your secure “SNAPCODE” referenced on your Pre-K letter. After you enter your SNAPCODE, you will need to create an account and password.  If you do not have your snapcode letter or have misplaced it contact your school.

What do I need in order to register my child?
Note: Once the Pre-K registration forms are completed online, parents are required to bring the following documents to complete the registration process:

Wait List

After the lottery, how do I put my child on the Wait List?
After the lottery runs, parents can complete an online Wait List form.

What if I am contacted about a seat becoming available?
If your child is on the Wait List and you are contacted about an open space, you will have 24 hours to accept the seat.  After that time, schools call the next child on the Wait List. If you accept the seat, you will be sent a snapcode email to the email provided on the waitlist application.  You will have 48 hours to register your child and provide required documents to the school.  If you decline the seat, your child will be removed from the wait list; however, if you are on other wait lists, your child will remain on them.

What if I am on three wait list, can I remove my child from one without affecting the other two wait lists?
After the lottery runs, if your child is on three Wait Lists, you can remove him/her from a wait list without impacting the status of other wait lists. The same rules apply if you fill out a wait list form and decide to remove your child from one of them.
