The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System 2017 Instructional Support Person of the Year Banquet took place at 6:30pm on April 28th at Woodville-Tompkins Technical and Career High School. The SCCPSS recognizes support staff such as nurses, paraprofessionals, custodians, cafeteria workers, media clerks, counselor clerks, and secretaries.
Out of 52 school nominees, we are proud to announce that Freddie Milton, Jr., the administrative secretary at Johnson High School, has been selected as the district’s ISPY for 2017!
Mr. Milton was selected for this honor based on his professional experience, professional development activities, his dedication to the advancement of education, and his strong community involvement. He believes that earning the trust of his students lead to academic support and an increase in their academic achievement.
Mr. Milton has worked in the school system since 1988 starting out as a substitute teacher, paraprofessional, custodian, and now as a secretary. He’s learned from parents, students, teachers, and support staff that you have to be an attentive listener. He contributes that as his greatest attribute. His coworkers agree that he is a positive presence at Johnson High School.
