The School Nutrition Program is a part of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program and it is designed to safeguard the health and well being of our nation’s children, utilizing USDA commodities, and to provide nutritionally adequate meals at affordable prices to all school children. Lunch provides one-third (1/3) of the recommended dietary intakes and breakfast provides one-fourth (1/4) of the recommended dietary intakes.
Menus are planned centrally by a Registered Dietitian (RD). The SNP is proud to announce that our menus meet the Healthier US School Challenge (HUSSC) guidelines and the current dietary guidelines for Americans.
