Student of the Month - January 2013

The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System honored Jackson Robider at this month’s board meeting for the Superintendent’s Student of the Month. Our featured student of the month is a fifth grader that constantly amazes those around him with his positive energy and quick-wittedness. He embraces learning at high levels with his creative thinking and problem-solving skills. He is a high honor roll student and has received numerous awards to include Top Science Award and Super Citizen Award. He is a member of the Junior BETA Club, participates in many athletic programs at the Pooler Recreation Center, and volunteers with the Savannah Rock-N- Roll Marathon. He believes that the most important lesson that he has learned so far in life is to treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Jackson is very community minded and recently took it upon himself to write a letter to the Recycling Department at the City of Pooler outlining a plan to begin a recycling program for the schools of Pooler. The manager of the Recycling Department was so impressed by the letter that he circulated it throughout his department and is currently working on a blue print to implement our student’s plan. When asked what motivates him for success, this student replied, “You never see the benefit of hard work in the eyes of a reward, but you always see the advantage of hard work in the eyes of a challenge.” The Superintendent’s Student of the Month for January is Jackson Robider, a fifth grade student from Pooler Elementary. Congratulations to our student, his family, and the faculty and staff at Pooler Elementary.
