Computer Equipment Donation Guidelines

Savannah-Chatham County Public School System thanks you for your interest in donating technology to be used by our teachers and students. To avoid incurring additional cost on donated equipment, please be sure it meets the following criteria.

Donated technology must be in good working order and must be cost effective to maintain. We cannot accept technology that is outdated, not working, or not compatible with our security or network environment.

·         LCD monitors

Peripherals:

·         All printers, scanners, digital cameras, projectors and other peripherals must be compatible with Windows 7 and above Professional version. Original software installation media and documentation for operating systems should be provided, or be available from the vendor. All peripherals must work and contain no broken or non-operational parts.

How to Start the Process

In order to initiate this process please contact the school you prefer to receive the donation.

The following information will be needed.  

  1. Type of technology and quantity (including make / model and processor speed) 
  2. Condition: New / used, age of technology
  3. Operating System (OS), manuals, license, presence of Certificate of Authenticity (COA)(sticker with product key)The schools will submit the information to the Network and Engineering Department for equipment review. The school will be notified of the outcome and their ability to integrate the technology being presented.

Financial Considerations per Computer for the School

  •  Unsupported OS versions: Upgrade Microsoft Windows to professional version (Provides enterprise support): $56.06 per device
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint): $53.33 per device
