 Useful Web 2.0 Tools

The term Web 2.0 is associated with web applications that facilitate participatory information sharing, interoperability, user-centered design, and collaboration on the World Wide Web. Examples of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs, wikis, video sharing sites, hosted services, web applications, mashups and folksonomies.

Diigo - a social bookmarking website.

Springnote - an information organizing tool that lets you write thoughts and ideas anytime.   

Zoho Notebook - an online portfolio.

Live Binder - students keep their research in a tabbed online binder. 

Tizmos - a personalized homepage that allows you to see thumbnails of your favorite sites.

Evernote is a suite of software and services designed for notetaking and archiving. 

Google Bookmarks-you can save shortcuts to your favorite webpages and navigate to them in seconds.

Google Custom Search allows you to create a search for your child based upon only sites that you approve.  

Google Docs-  users can create and edit documents online while collaborating in real-time with other users.

 Mindmapping/Timelines

 

Mindomo is an online mind map Software where users can create, view and share mind maps in their browser.


Dipity - is a free digital timeline website. Users can create, share, embed and collaborate on interactive, visually engaging timelines that integrate video, audio, images, text, links, social media, location and timestamps.

Bubbl.us - concept-mapping web 2.0 application, similar to Inspiration, which allows the user to make graphical representations of ideas.

Grapholite - a web-based tool that makes creating graphs, charts and diagrams an absolute cinch. the same degree.

TimeToast - allows people to easily create interactive, online timelines.

Animoto - is a web application that produces videos from photos, video clips and music.

Go Animate - an animation creation tool. Imagine the great animations your child can create based upon his/her interests.
