Announcements: SCCPSS Summer Reading Challenge

Title

SCCPSS Summer Reading Challenge

Body

"A study done at the University of Tennessee found that children and teens who did not read over the summer lose the equivalent of two months of literacy development, while students who did read gained a month. Because of this, when school begins in the fall there is likely to be a three month difference in literacy readiness between those who read over the summer and those who didn’t - an unfortunate fact known as the 'summer slide'.
Reading over the summer is not a suggestion to keep kids busy; on the contrary, it is a critical requirement to help students stay on track for their entire educational career and beyond."
The links above provide suggested reading lists provided by the SCCPSS District.
