A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Mrs. Dora S. Myles
I am deeply proud and honored to serve as the Principal of Myers Middle School. As Principal I would like all of you to be reminded of the word, EXCELLENCE. Excellence is what we as educators are striving to achieve here at Myers for our students and our school.
Excellence goes beyond improving attendance rates, discipline indicators, and test scores. It is about breaking through barriers and exceeding expectations. Excellence encompasses doing well now and being positioned to do well in the future. Excellence at Myers Middle School also means that we can expect our students to behave and act like ladies and gentlemen.
Accountability in education is a fixture for the 21 Century. Accountability systems must reflect 21st Century skills and the knowledge students must acquire to be successful and become productive citizens. Here at Myers, we strive to be accountable in educating our students and helping our students to be accountable for their learning.
At Myers Middle School, we challenge ourselves to realize success for every student in the many ways that it can be measured. It is only through the success of our students that we can realize the goals of the Savannah Chatham County Public Missions and Vision statements:
Mission
To ignite a passion for learning and teaching at high levels.
Vision
From school to the world: All students prepared for productive futures.
It is my pleasure to serve as Principal at Myers Middle School and work with our parents, students, and staff to create productive citizens for the future.
