House Bill 91: Emancipation Diploma Bill

Effective March 30, 2015, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed House Bill 91: Emancipation Diploma Bill into law. What does this mean for you? It means that any former student who has met all high school graduation requirements including completing all course requirements, attendance, and community service (if this graduation requirement applies to you), but did not pass one or more sections of either the Georgia High School Graduation Tests or the Georgia Basic Skills Tests, can petition their school district to grant them a diploma. If this petition is approved, the diploma will be issued for the date in which the student should have graduated from high school. Further information can be found in the forms below.
