Science Department
The Science Department offers a variety of classes that will interest and engage almost any student. Students in ninth grade take Biology which consists of life science material from cell structure and function to genetics and ecology. In tenth grade, students take Physical Science and in eleventh grade they take Chemistry. Chemistry introduces the chemical element of life. In the twelfth grade, students have three choices of science classes. Students can opt to take Physics, in which they will use basic algebra and trigonometry to understand motion, force, waves and energy; Environmental Science which will enable students to develop an understanding of the general ecosystems and the ways in which humans impact our environment; or Anatomy and Physiology which is the study of the structure and function of living things. Throughout the four years of science, students will participate in the Science Fair, Science club, and the Science Seminar.
