Coastal Middle School strives to be the best middle school in the state of Georgia. We provide a strong emphasis on academics through high expectations for both students and teachers. As an International Baccalaurate Middle Years Programme World School we work to create a challenging environment that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world and to become reflective and critical thinkers.

Coastal Middle School was recognized by the Governor's Office of Student Achievement as a 2011 Platinum Award School for Greatest Gains in Student Achievement on the CRCT. Only 10 middle schools in the state received this award.

Our school also received the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals (GAMSP) Effective Middle School Program Award for 2012-2015.

Our most recent recognition is the Georgia Lighthouse Schools to Watch Designation. We are one of only 20 middle schools in Georgia to hold this prestigious title. For more information about the Schools to Watch Program go to www.schoolstowatch.org.

It is the goal of the administration, faculty and staff of Coastal Middle School to ensure that each one of our students has a positive and productive middle school experience.
