IHS is considered a traditional, community high school with comprehensive offerings including honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses for students in grades 9-12.  Students can choose from Liberal Arts courses such as art, band, chorus, Spanish, and French or they will have the opportunity to take career pathway courses in Business Administrative and Information Support or Veterinary Sciences (coming in the Fall of 2011).  A Biological/Environmental Sciences Specialty Program is available to select students from all over the district. Other career pathway courses are available with the daily shuttle to the Woodville Tompkins Technical and Career Institute.
