Greetings SOH at Low All-Star Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!!! It is with honor and sincere pleasure that I greet you as the principal of the School of Humanities at Juliette Gordon Low Elementary School. I am humbled and most appreciative for the opportunity presented to me to be a part of this great school community.  As a product of the Savannah-Chatham County School System, I am very familiar with the goals and achievements of our district and the vision and mission: To ignite a passion for learning and teaching at high levels: ALL students prepared for productive futures that is embedded in our beliefs and manifested through the operation of our schools and success of our students.  It has been my life’s passion to educate young people and to serve as an advocate to ensure all students are prepared to become productive citizens in society.

As a servant-leader, I am committed to providing your child with an orderly, engaging, structured environment that is conducive to learning. I believe in the African proverb that states, “It takes a village to raise a child.”  Therefore, I look forward to championing a culture of teamwork as WE work TOGETHER to ensure that our students are successful.  I am confident that our students will SOAR in academics and behavior.

Additionally, here are some things that you can do to help us to help your child.  Send them to us each day prepared to learn.  That means well rested, homework completed, daily reading completed and dressed in our school uniform.  Attend school events and conferences so that we can keep you informed about your child’s progress.  Call us if you have concerns, so that we can make sure we are doing all that we can to help your child be successful.  Make sure that your child follows “Scout’s Laws” our expectations for student behavior – “Be Responsible! Be Safe! Be Respectful! The more we partner as advocates for your child’s educational success, the more successful your child will be!

Please read through our Student Handbook carefully and become familiar with our school’s expectations, guidelines, and procedures.  Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and check our website regularly to get the most-up-to-date information about our school and upcoming events.

I embrace the opportunity to meet and work with each of you. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas! I am confident that with your support our Scouts will SOAR! Excellence is what WE do at the School of Humanities at Juliette Gordon Low Elementary.

Yours in Service as we SOAR with Excellence,

Tahisha N. Wright
