Savannah's Maritime History
Massie Heritage Center’s Maritime Gallery exhibit features 19 handcrafted model ships built by the late M. Gerard Greco. The models are of famous historical ships and range in dates from the 9th century into the 20th century. The exhibit also highlights the Savannah River and how it has significantly influenced historical developments in our city.

Massie Heritage Center is a unit within the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System and has a primary mission to use its resources to provide curriculum-based instruction on Social Studies standards to school children of all ages. This new exhibit will greatly help us accomplish such a mission. The center is also a great resource for the community and hosts thousands of visitors each year from all over the world who come to Massie to learn about our city’s remarkable history and architecture.

The Massie Maritime Gallery Dedication was held on August 28, 2015
