EOA, Parent University announce partnership

The Economic Opportunity Authority of Savannah and Parent University announced a
partnership.

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -
On Monday, the Economic Opportunity Authority of Savannah and Parent University
announced a partnership.

It's aimed at helping students become successful and stay in school - by getting
the parents involved.

The two groups have been working together for some time now, but on Monday the
deal was made officially.

The partnership is expected to help measure parent involvement in the School
Readiness program and help children be more prepared for the classroom.

"When parents support what the teachers are doing or they start the support
systems at home - we see children developments and obtainments go faster. So we
are so happy when parents are involved and they can support the children," said
Stephania Whitehurst, director of Head Start.
