  • Attention incoming Sophomores, juniors, and seniors: The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Coastal Empire is reaching out to the community teenagers in search of candidates who are interested in becoming active members of our Volun-teen and Yellow Shoe Crew Teen service programs. We are looking for responsible, goal-driven teens who are leaders within the community and want to help make a difference in the lives of critically ill or injured children and their families who are receiving medical care at a nearby facility. Please see Ms. Hamrick for more information.

  • Anyone interested in being a part of the international cultural exchange organization for next year should see Mrs. Verwiel in room 311 to fill out a contact information sheet.

  • The Chatham County Youth Commission is accepting applications. See Mr. Corbett for more information.

  • Volleyball Try-outs will be held today through Thursday this week. Please see Coach Best if you wish to try out.

  • Information about Summer SAT classes at Coastal Georgia Center is posted outside Mr. Corbett's office.

  • Oatland Island Summer Camp volunteer is needed. Please see Ms. Hamrick for more information.

  • All Students who have signed up to take Accelerated Pre-calculus next year must stop by Ms. Lane's room 230 to pick up the Summer Assignment Packet. This assignment is due when school resumes in August. Be sure to get your copy before you leave for the Summer.

  • Join SAA in celebrating another successful year.  The yearbook staff is proud to present this year's book, "Outside the Lines."  There are still a limited number of books available.  To purchase your student a document of this year's success, see Mr. Wallace in room 322.  Books are limited, but still available for $90.00.  Thank you for supporting Savannah Arts Academy.

  • Do you have a special Senior that you want to kiss goodbye?  Key Club is selling Kiss a Senior Candy Grams for $1.00 before school in the front lobby and during both lunches in the cafeteria this week only!

  • A free Summer college readiness workshop will be held at Beach HS from June 5-9.  Flyers and applications are available outside of Mr. Corbett's office.  The registration deadline is May 10.

  • The Spring Outdoor Concert is TONIGHT at 5:30 in front of the school! The SAA Skylite Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Mastery Orchestra, and Chorale will be performing.

  • Voting has begun! Who will wear the blood drop costume next week? Lundin, Van Goor, Sapp, Jefe, Olson, Nestor? Drop your change, dollar bills into the bucket of choice to determine the winner!! Voting will take place all week.  All money raised will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

  • Congratulations to SAA's girl 4 by 100 relay team for advancing to the state track meet! Soraya Brooker, Drew Peloke, Julia Roland, and Hannah Challenger posted a time of 51.40 seconds on Saturday for a chance to compete for a state championship. The team will travel on May 11th to Albany, GA.

  • Attention Students: Do you know about Shelf Help?  It is a place where those in need can find food, toiletry items and school supplies.  So if you or your family are struggling, if you find yourself going without meals, if you need something to tide you over until payday, please come to the Help Shelf and take what you need, no questions asked.  The shelf is located in Ms. Brantley's room in the couselor wing. No one will ask you to explain.  That is why it's there - to help.

  • Wednesday (tomorrow) is Papa Murphy's Pizza Night for Savannah Arts Academy.  Tomorrow between 5 and 7 head over to the Papa Murphy's location on DeRenne and grab a pizza to support our choral program.  A percentage of all profits that day go to benefit our singers.  Who doesn't like Pizza!!  Get yours tomorrow evening!

  • Beta Club presents the Great Beta Bake Off!!  It will be held in the front lobby after school Wednesday (tomorrow), Thursday, and Friday of this week.  Tickets are $2.00 for two treats and proceeds benefit the leukemia and lymphoma society.  Don't forget to bring money and come vote for your favorite treat to support a great cause.

  • The Visual Arts Department invites you to attend the annual Celebrate! art exhibition in the Gallery on Washington from March 1-31.  March is Youth Art Month.  This year's theme, "United Through Art", showcases recent student artworks celebrating visual arts with a variety of media in drawing, painting, sculpture, and fasion.  The artworks are inspired by the theme to focus on the diversity of all the fine arts programs at SAA:  Communication Arts, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts.  The show will also include 14 State Finalist artworks from SAA, recently exhibited in the 2017 All-State Arts Symposium Student Art Exhibition, sponsored by Columbus State University.  Kashta Dozier-Muhammad received the First Place Award (Best of Show) and a $350.00 cash award for his Prismacolor drawing "Spotlight" and Shahla Mack received a Fourth Place Award and a $75.00 award for her scratchboard drawing "Looking Forward".  Congratulations to Kashta and Shahla for their recent accomplishments, and to all the talented students who had work on display!

  • There will be a dress-down day tomorrow (Friday March 3rd) for a $2.00 donation.  All proceeds will be donated to the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society for blood cancer research.

  • The SAA Jazz Bands are looking for vocalists, bass players, and drum set players.  Please see Mr. Nestor in room 302 (the band room) during homeroom for specific audition requirements.  Auditions Have been moved to Monday, March 6th 2017.  See the band board for more information.

  • National Honor Society applications are due before Thursday, March 9 at 8:00am.  Please turn them in to Mrs. Summerford in room 237.

  • Join the Savannah Arts Theatre Department this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:00pm for their Winter production of The Laramie Project, the story of Matthew Sheppard, a gay college student who was killed in a hate crime in Laramie, Wyoming.  Hear his story and how it shaped the community of Laramie as wel as our country.  Arrive early for dinner catered by Woodville Tompkins High School and support your SAA actors and technicians.  Student tickets are only $10.00 at the door.  We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Celebrate Valentine's Day with your Senior:  The Senior Class invites parents to join them Tuesday morning, Feb 14th, for a Valentine's Day Exchange.  Come enjoy donuts in front of the school at 7:15am, and bring a little Valentine of your own to give them.  The seniors will have a little something for you. 
  • Tuesday Feb 14th, Valentine's day will be a day of giving.  The Tutu's for Tata's will host a Valentine's non-uniform day for $2.00.  Dress in your favorite red and pink.
