  • Congratulations to the Varsity Math Team for having 3 members place in the top 20 students in the region at the 2017 Georgia Southern Math Competition.

  • Congratulations to Noor Ladha, Addie Robertson, Emmet Wood, and Maddie Holt for placing 3rd in the 2017 Georgia Southern University Math Competition.

  • The Visual Arts Department invites you to attend the annual Celebrate! art exhibition in the Gallery on Washington from March 1-31.  March is Youth Art Month.  This year's theme, "United Through Art", showcases recent student artworks celebrating visual arts with a variety of media in drawing, painting, sculpture, and fasion.  The artworks are inspired by the theme to focus on the diversity of all the fine arts programs at SAA:  Communication Arts, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Visual Arts.  The show will also include 14 State Finalist artworks from SAA, recently exhibited in the 2017 All-State Arts Symposium Student Art Exhibition, sponsored by Columbus State University.  Kashta Dozier-Muhammad received the First Place Award (Best of Show) for his Prismacolor drawing "Spotlight" and Shahla Mack received a Fourth Place Award for her scratchboard drawing "Looking Forward".  Congratulations to Kashta and Shahla for their recent accomplishments, and to all the talented students who had work on display!

  • Congratulations to the SAA Lady Panthers Tennis Team for their win over S.E. Bulloch.  The following students won their matches;  Sara Putman, Ariana Lipat, Ellie Sutker, Jennifer Primatic & Kristina Lowery, Ashlyn Jackson & Emma Traynor.  Our next tennis match will be tomorrow against Beach HS.  The following boys tennis players won their matches yesterday;  Devin Rodgers & Anthony Stovall, Ellis Finlay & Kip Powers.
  • Greetings to all Key Club members.  Please turn in your $3.75 for the GA Sheriff's Youth Home to Mrs. Buckles no later than Feb 15.  Also, if you would like to be an officer, please prepare a speech for Feb 20th.
  • The school district is holding a free FAFSA completion workshop on February 16.  Information is posted outside of Mr. Corbett's office.
  • SAA's show choir, VOX, will be holding auditions for the next year's ensemble on Thursday, Feb 16 from 3:00-5:30pm.  This audition is open to all SAA students in any major.  In preparation, there will be an audition workshop after school Tuesday, Feb 14 for those wishing to learn the audition choreography before the audition date.  For more details please see Mr. Watkins.

  • Celebrate Valentine's Day with your Senior:  The Senior Class invites parents to join them Tuesday morning, Feb 14th, for a Valentine's Day Exchange.  Come enjoy donuts in front of the school at 7:15am, and bring a little Valentine of your own to give them.  The seniors will have a little something for you. 
  • Tuesday Feb 14th, Valentine's day will be a day of giving.  The Tutu's for Tata's will host a Valentine's non-uniform day for $2.00.  Dress in your favorite red and pink.

  • Friday Feb 3 - Free dental cleanings and treatment for children ages 3-18.  Ask your counselor for more information.
  • There will be a Thespian Society meeting next Tuesday January 17 in Mr. Lundin's room 111.  Please make sure you attend because a lot of important information will be distributed.
  • Wed Jan 11 - Lee College will visit during both lunches.
  • Wed Jan 11 - Georgia College will visit in the college room located on the counselor's hallway across from room 17.
  • Wed Jan 11 - There will be a mandatory girls' soccer meeting immediately after school in room 236.  If you cannot make the meeting or if you have any questions, please see Mrs. Mustafa in room 236.
  • Attention all J2F models - Mandatory model meeting will be next Thursday Jan 12 in the theater.  ONLY models are to attend.
  • If anyone is interested in doing morning announcements for the 2017-2018 school year, please report to the main office Thursday morning at 7:30.
  • International Nigh Rehearsals - January 30, January 31, February 1 (dress rehearsal), February 2 (International Night).  These rehearsals are from 3-5pm in the theater for models and performers.  Booths should come only for the first rehearsal January 30 for 15 minutes.
  • February 4 - Atlanta Black College Expo will be held at the Cobb Galleria Center.  There will be scholarship opportunities for Seniors & Juniors as well as band audition scholarships!
