Visual Arts Students continue to wow their audiences with amazing work! 


All-State Art Symposium Student Art Exhibition

The All-State is hosted by Columbus State University and sponsored by the Georgia Art Education Association.  There were over 1200 works submitted from the state by private and public schools. There are 14 artworks from SAA to receive state finalist status. Approximately 90 artworks will be on display at the Corn Center for the Visual Arts Gallery, and are eligible for awards announced February 24, 2017.

Mary Sinsheimer's artwork, "3:30 PM", will be used for the 2017 Historic Savannah poster logo design.


University  of South Carolina Beaufort Emerging Artists Competition

There were 119 high school artworks submitted from Georgia and South Carolina, with over 50 works which were selected for display in this year's showat USCB.Two of our students had work on display, including the top award winner, Madden Palefsky with her oil painting, "Fight Club".

Georgia Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

The regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is hosted by the Savannah College of Art & Design and presented by the Alliance for Youn g Artists & Writers. In this year's competition, a total of 12 Gold keys, 24 Silver keys, and 32 Honorable mentions were given to SAA students in various Individual art categories, including a Gold key and Silver key in the Art Portfolio category. Gold key winning artworks will be forwarded for national adjudication and medal winners announced in March 2017.

An Artistic Discovery, 

the United States Congressional High School Art Exhibition

Armstrong State University hosts the Congressional show for Georgia's First Congressional District in the Armstrong Fine Arts Gallery from February 20 - March 5. Approximately 65 artworks were selected for display from public and private schools, 33 are from SAA. A closing reception will be held to announce award winners Sunday, March 5, from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m.

16th Annual New Beginning Youth Art Exhibition

Sponsored by the City of Savannah and presented by the Savannah Chapter of the LINKS, Inc. It includes local art from middle and high school art students in the district based on the 2017 Black Heritage Festival theme, Focusing on the Future:  Acknowledging Echoes from the Past. Works will be on display in the gallery from February 2 - 24, located in the Cultural Arts Gallery at 9 W. Henry Street.
