The only students who should remain after school are those schedules for club meetings, athletic practices, tutorials, or rehearsals. Students should be picked up immediately after dismissal times.

I.     Attendance

  • If your child is absent from school for illness or any other reason, please send a note in to Ms. Gandy letting us know. We will make the adjustments to an excused absence (illness) in PowerSchool.
  • Daily attendance is important and factors in to SAA's state rating (CCRPI score). Please make sure your student attends school regularly and is on time every day.
  • We are averaging 30 students who are tardy in the morning. This does not include students who may be late because of SCCPSS Transportation. Every time a student is tardy the instructional flow of the lesson is interrupted. 
  • The Attendance/Tardy Policy has been updated and is now a part of the Specialty School Contract. If students are continuously tardy, they will be placed on probationary status and removed from SAA if attendance and tardies do not improve.

II.     PTSA

  • PTSA Membership form is attached. Please take a moment to complete your form and attach the $6 individual membership fee. Student membership is taken care of through class dues.
  • PTSA Yearly Campaign is underway. Please take a moment to determine how you will be able to participate. To donate, just go to saa-ptsa.org. Annual Campaign Fund donation cards are always available in the office as well.

III.    SAA School Council

  • The SAA School Council is accepting nominations to elect new parent members to serve a 2-year term. If you are interested please contact Lisa Wilkes, SAA Council Chairperson at lisawilkessavannah@gmail.com.

IV.   Class Dues - may be turned in as follows:

  • Freshman and Sophomore - $45 to Ms. Gandy in the main office
  • Juniors - Mrs. Sheehan in room 203
  • Seniors - Dr. Lacey in room 107

VI.   Medication 

  • Parents are required to complete and sign the Medication Authorization Form and bring in the prescription or over the counter medication to the school nurse. 
  • Students are not allowed to carry any medication including over the counter medication during the school day
