Non-Uniform Day Dress Code Guidelines

Students should dress appropriately for dress down days.  Their clothing should not be a distraction to the learning environment.  The education of students is our highest priority and student clothing should not serve as a hindrance to that purpose.  Any clothing that causes a distraction to the learning environment will be referred to administration and action to resolve the dress code violation will be taken.  Logos or garments that promote or advertise alcohol, drugs, tobacco, gang affiliation, nudity, profanity, violence, and/or contain inappropriate saying/pictures are not allowed under any circumstances.  


  • No Hoodies allowed
  • Shirts must not reveal any areas of the waist or upper body
  • Midriffs must be covered at ALL times – no Midriff shirts
  • Tank tops, spaghetti straps, tube tops, tight stretch material, low cut tops, shirts revealing undergarments, and shirts displaying inappropriate words or pictures are not permitted.  


  • Pants for either gender must cover undergarments at all times.
  • Pants for either gender must be worn at the waist.
  • Shorts and skirts must be no more than 3 inches from the knee.
  • Ripped or holes in pants, shorts or shirts of any size are not permitted.
  • Yoga pants or leggings are not permitted.


  • Shoes/footwear are to be worn at all times on school grounds
  • Open toed shoes and/or backless shoes are not permitted (no sandals, flipflops, etc.).


  • Pajamas are not permitted
  • Hats and sunglasses are not permitted.
  • Bedroom shoes/slippers are not permitted.
  • Bandana/hats/”doo rags” are not permitted.
  • No clothing with rips, tears or holes.
  • Patterned tights are OK as long as pants/shirts/shorts are no more than 3 inches above the knee (on dress down days).
  • Spiked jewelry or spiked accessories (including belts) are not permitted, nor are spikes on any clothing item permitted.  

The school reserves the right to address new fashions not mentioned in this document as they become available to student consumers.  Fashions must be appropriate for an educational setting.
