Southwest Middle School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week Monday, Oct. 23-Friday, Oct. 27 with a spirit week and a series of events designed to encourage students to stay off drugs.
Monday, Oct. 23: Red Ribbon Kick-Off
Monday will feature a guest speaker and students will sign the Red Ribbon Pledge. Students will also be allowed to wear red shirts and tops with their uniform bottoms.
Tuesday, Oct. 24: Drug-Free Through the Decades
On Tuesday, students are encouraged to dress up from a different time period, either the 60s, 70s, 80s, or the 90s. Students must follow the dress code, which means no holes, rips, tears, or revealing clothing.
Wednesday, Oct. 25: Team Up Against Drugs
Students will be allowed to wear their favorite team's t-shirt or jersey with their uniform bottoms.
Thursday, Oct. 26: We Are Too Old for Drugs
Students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite senior citizen to promote a long and healthy life.
Friday, Oct. 27th: Follow Me to a Drug-Free Life
Friday will feature our annual Red Ribbon Parade, as well as the announcement of our student and classroom door contest winners. Students will also be able to wear a red top with jeans, but must follow dress code, which means no holes, rips, tears, or revealing clothing.
