What is a school council and what does it do?
The school council is an individual advisory group for Southwest Middle School. The main goal of the school council is to provide advice, recommendations, and assistance to the school on matters relating to school improvement and student achievement.
Who is on the school council?
The school council consists of eight members: three parents or guardians of students enrolled in the school, two community members, two certified full-time teachers, and the principal. The term of office for council members is two years. Council members are allowed to serve more than one term.
